These 5 apps that will help make sure your next business trip goes as smooth as silk!

Traveling for business anytime soon? Even if you only travel occasionally you’ll want to check out these apps. I just got back from a trip and I used these apps all the time.

Business Trip

Staying on schedule and on task can be difficult when you travel.

Do you have to save receipts for an expense report? did you get to your meeting on time? Did your schedule change on the fly or have a client call to meet you somewhere that wasn’t planned.

Well all of this happened to me on my last trip. I was prepared to handle it all, without missing a step. You can easily do it too.

Here’s what I use when traveling:

  • Expensify – This makes expense reports a breeze. Just enter the data from the receipts and snap a photo of the receipt. When you a are done you can create a report that sums up the expenses and makes a copy of the receipts for you.
  • Goto Meeting – If your team is having a Goto Meeting (an excellent service by the way) make sure to download the Goto Meeting app. Keep in mind you may run into technical difficulties setting up the Goto Meeting, especially if it’s the first time for someone. The app makes it simple and all you have to do is input the meeting ID and you’re all set. This app saved me on my last trip.
  • Google Maps – A must have especially if you are driving yourself to and from the meetings.
  • Contacts – Organize your contacts for the trip before you go. Email address, phone numbers (don’t forget to get cell phone numbers) and physical addresses are something to confirm before the trip. This one really helps you when you are using the Google Maps app.
  • Calendar App – Keep all your appointments on your calendar. If someone wants to move or change something you can easily check if you can do it. You will most likely be on the go and things might take a little longer than expected. This app helps to keep your day organized.

Traveling for work is complicated and can be very tiring. Stay sharp and let these apps do some of the heavy lifting for you. Best of all they are all free! Check them out.
