10 Apps to help you be more productive.

I have my core productivity apps that I use throughout the day but I have 10 other productivity apps that I also use. Each one has a specific purpose and fills in any gaps I have.

10 Productive Apps

These apps help to keep me productive!

A couple of years ago I needed to make a flowchart for a report I was doing. I struggled with using Microsoft Publisher to do this. It was really painful.

So I went on a search to find an app!

I tend to look for apps that have simple user interfaces but are feature rich. I want things to be as intuitive as possible but yet I want to have as many useful features as possible. It’s a tough balance to achieve this, some apps I’ve used offered so many great features but I struggled with using the app. Other simpler apps were easy to use but lack features.

I think these apps all strike a nice balance of features and ease of use.

Toggl – Do you need to track time? Toggl will track and add it all up for you and make a nice report.

Grafio – Ever have the need to make a flow chart or org chart? Grafio makes these charts and more.

Workflowy – This is an outlining program that can expand as big as you need it. It’s really basic but ingenious since you can expand or collapse the outlining as much as you want.

Corkulus – Think of this a digital cork board. I use it for making vision boards. You can add photo’s, text, sticky notes and organize them however you want.

Anylist – This is my go to shopping list program. If you buy the same foods every time at the grocery store this app is handy since it stores that information. I also jot down things I might need at a particular store such as the hardware store and when I visit that sites I look on my hardware store list and see if I need to buy anything.

Noteshelf – This is the best app I’ve tried for taking notes on the iPad.

Text Expander – This is a pretty clever app. What this is app great at is saving templates for you. In the app you type up your template and assign a code to it. When you are in another app and type that code the text will “expand” and what you typed in text expander will open up. Do you find you have to type a lot of the same type of emails or have a report that is always the same format then you might want to try this app out.

Clipboard Manager – Copy and paste on steroids! When you use this app you can lots of copies and cuts. It’s pretty handy if you are writing and need to store information.

IThoughts – This is a mind mapping tool. It’s feature rich and I can save my maps to Dropbox.

Paperless – Need to make a checklist? Do it once here and reuse it.

I certainly don’t use these apps everyday but when I need them they are sitting in my productivity  folder ready to go. They cover all the bases for me.

Let’s talk more about this on Twitter.
