iPad only, Yes it is a reality!

It finally happened, I no longer needed to carry around a laptop. My iPad can handle everything I need to do. I bet for most the iPad can handle what you need to do on a day basis.

ipad only

Ive been using an iPad for years. Finally I feel like its the best possible solution for all my needs.

I’ve tried for years to make my iPad into a laptop. And it was a struggle. It’s not a laptop. It will never be a laptop.

That’s the best part about it.

The iPad is a super thin, highly portable, incredibly capable platform for you to do most anything.

Going all digital the easy way!

I want to be all digital. It seems like it would be so nice to have all your documents accessible from anywhere, ah what a dream! But I just can’t get away from taking notes with a pen and paper. Oh and there’s that drawing thing that I do. Pen and paper just feels right to me.

You can integrate written notes into a all digital format you just need the right app.

I’ve tried a bunch of stylus’s. From inexpensive rubber tipped ones to the Evernote Jot Script. They all work really well but I never found a great stylus/app como that I felt comfortable enough to use to replace my notebook. Maybe someday I should just say for the next 2 weeks I’m going to only take digital notes on my iPad. Maybe…

I want to have all my notes to be digital. In the past I would save them up into a big pile and scan them into Evernote.

What I do now is take a photo from inside the Evernote app. The app will title the note and give it a date. You can also tag and crop the photo. It works really well. The app will also give a location for the note.

Here’s some great reasons to do this:

  • Available 24/7– Your notes are instantly available wherever you are. Instead of them still being in your notebook or worse in a pile of to be scanned.
  • Searchable – Evernote will scan your notes and make them searchable even the handwritten notes.
  • Paper is just a medium – The paper notes don’t really mean much after you scan them. I usually toss em. Any what’s great about this is if I don’t have my normal notebook anything piece of paper will do. You can use this for whiteboards also.

It’s so simple to use. I take my notes on my action method paper then after the meeting I snap a picture of them with my phone using Scanble and send them right to Evernote. When I do I capture a time and date stamp and a location.

I like freeing my mind of things. Evernote helps me to do that. This is a simple but really nice way to help me to streamline my filing. Give it a try it’s so simple to do.
Let’s talk more about this on Twitter.

The printed word is no longer what it used to be……It’s gone digital.

You love to hold a real book, in your hands, I feel for you because I do to. There is something about the pages, smell of the printed word, the handwritten notes that you made squeeze into the margins and highlights that bleed through to the next page……Ah they are great.

But I’m a Kindle fanatic. Going digital was a little tough for me and making the switch might be tough for you too. I’ve come up with a few tips that may sway you to the digital side.
