Vision Board: See your future success!

I’ve found a great app to help me envision my future. I always loved the concept of a vision board but never really was able to make it work for me. Cutting and pasting paper had so many inherent limitations that I just never wanted to try it. I wanted something that was fast, flexible and portable. I found an app that does all this.

I’m a visual person and this board helps to “see” my world as I would want it to be.

After researching apps for the iPad, I found Corkulous.

Here’s how I use it:

I break down the board into areas of focus in my life. I have categories such as:

  • Career
  • Personal
  • Family

All the tools are located in the file cabinet icon at the lower left hand corner of the app. To open the file cabinet touch it with your finger and slide it to the right.

All the tools are access from inside this file cabinet.

Boards: You can create a new board from inside the file cabinet. The pro version allows multiple boards.

Photo’s: I find images or use my own and fill out these areas with images that will help me to imagine my ideal future world. Sometimes they can be material images of “stuff” I would like to own or they can be images that invoke a feeling – such as a sense of calm. I also collect motivational/inspiring images. I also collect “memories” of special times or people I want to be reminded about.

Notes: There are a few different options for notes in the app. I write notes to myself about specific things that I want to note. Sometimes these are a goal or reminder.

Labels: I use these to label my areas of focus.

Contacts: Have an important person you want to remind yourself about, this is where I note it.

Tasks: I don’t use this feature too often but it’s sometimes helpful to see things in a to-do list format.

For this app I think you have to buy the pro version. The pro version allows multiple boards, iCloud backup and a few other useful features.

Lastly I set a reminder to review my board once a week. This way it doesn’t stagnate and not be relevant anymore.

Do you keep a vision board?
