Organize your week for success!

You’re a manager in your firm and you need to get everyone organized and moving towards your goals for the week. Let’s look at how you can structure your week to get things done!

time management

As a manager you need to have structure in your week.

Here’s how I break it down:

Monday:

Collect – This is the time to collect (empty your inbox), and then process all your loose ends.

Tuesday:

Define ProjectsThe project management meeting will happen today. Review the summaries of the processing that took place the day before and discuss the previous weeks open items. Define your course (projects) of action for this week

Wednesday:

Act – This is the day to push your next actions.

Thursday:

Follow Up – This is the day to follow up on your waiting for’s. You’ve made the assignments now you need check in and assess if you should continue, stop or modify what is being done. You still can make a course correction at this time.

Friday:

Review – This is the time to do a weekly review.

Most of your staff will be in reactive mode. Reacting to what is thrown at them, unless they are highly disciplined. For this reason you must be the one to look at the big picture. They may not be thinking about what will happen a few weeks down the road if we miss a deadline because we’ve spent time reacting to a client’s request. You are going to have to play a balancing game here keeping the client happy but yet meeting the deadlines.

How do you structure your week?
